Ideal Water Parameters & Care Instructions:

  • Water Conditions: Stability is key, but aim for at least with 8 GH, 4 KH, and a temperature between 62-80 degrees Fahrenheit for optimal shrimp health.
  • Nitrate: Maintain nitrate levels below 20 ppm. Employing heavy planting is the key to success to keeping nitrates low.
  • Stability: Shrimp do best when things change as little as possible. They can tolerate a wide range of conditions, but only if they are acclimated to them properly. Similarly, your tank's water parameters should remain stable and not rapidly change. Planting is especially helpful in keeping nitrates low and minimizing the need for water changes. Relying solely on water changes to keep nitrates below 20 ppm will stress your shrimp, and ultimately lead to failure, as this is too much constant change for your shrimp!

Our Mixed Skittles Pack offers an affordable entry into the hobby or a way to diversify your existing collection. With the addition of live moss and optional snails, you're not just buying shrimp; you're investing in a sustainable and dynamic aquarium ecosystem.

  • GH: 8-12
  • KH: 2-7
  • Nitrates: <20 ppm
  • pH: 6.9-7.6
  • Temperature: 70-74 degrees Fahrenheit

  • Aquarium Setup: Mature, cycled tanks with plenty of live plants create the perfect environment for your shrimp and snails to flourish.
  • Acclimation Guide: Follow our step-by-step acclimation instructions included with your order for a smooth transition to your tank. For best results, PLEASE HAVE A DRIP ACCLIMATION KIT READY (not included) to use when your shrimp arrive!

Ecosystem Balance & Improved Planted Tank Experience:

Have you had troubles in the past maintaining a planted tank? Do your plants quickly get covered in algae? Are you tired of constantly scraping algae from your tank? Shrimp and snails may just be the answer for you!

Your aquarium is an ecosystem in a box--and a balanced ecosystem requires every niche to be filled.  Shrimp and snails are omnivorous scavengers in the wild--they consume pretty much anything they can get in their mouths, whether that is rotting plants, algae, biofilm, or decaying fish. In an aquarium, shrimp and snails assist by cleaning up extra food (looking at you, overfeeders!), and lower tank maintenance by consuming algae on plants, hardscape and tank glass. Order now and take the first step towards a more vibrant and engaging aquarium experience!
